The switch between the two formats requires nomanual change or machine downtime since the thermoforming machine can switch between twodifferent formats “on the fly” by pushing a button on the PLC control unit. This does not only minimizecostly machine downtime, it also allows for low errorrates and thus supports an efficient production flow. The only requirement is the same film supply and index length for both formats (applicable from ML-C 3600).
